Moak wins Tucson Bicycle Classic finale

On Sunday afternoon, Arizona resident Summer Moak exacted her revenge on the peloton by winning the final stage of the Tucson Bicycle Classic. A day earlier, Moak was left frustrated by a four-rider breakaway that made it to the line and had to settle for fifth. It was that frustration of missing out that propelled her to a sprint victory in the race’s finale.

Watch the video to hear Summer’s thoughts on her first win of 2019.

The win was Moak’s first and the team’s second victory of the season following teammate Megan Jastrab’s triumph at the Valley of the Sun Stage Race mid-February. Despite a nagging knee injury that kept Moak off the bike for two weeks prior, she found the legs to deliver the goods on Sunday.

Moak will continue her comeback from injury and join her Rally UHC Cycling teammates for the Redlands Bicycle Classic later this month.
