Adam de Vos took up cycling in his last year of high school by joining the school league. Being a competitive swimmer for ten years prior, he quickly excelled from his strong aerobic background. After a year of training in both swimming and cycling, he decided to stop swimming to pursue racing. At the end of his first full season of racing he was selected to represent Canada at the junior World Championships in Denmark. De Vos spent two years on the Trek Red Truck team before moving to the H&R Block Pro Cycling Team and eventually Rally Cycling.
