A great work ethic and drive is extremely important in cycling but also in every facet of life.

Adam de Vos took up cycling in his last year of high school by joining the school league. Being a competitive swimmer for ten years prior, he quickly excelled from his strong aerobic background. After a year of training in both swimming and cycling, he decided to stop swimming to pursue racing. At the end of his first full season of racing he was selected to represent Canada at the junior World Championships in Denmark. De Vos spent two years on the Trek Red Truck team before moving to the H&R Block Pro Cycling Team and eventually Rally Cycling.

What inspired you to ride?

A good friend of mine in high school bought road bike to ride, which got me interested. Soon after, a teacher started a cycling club and that is where I started to get serious about cycling.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

I struggled with a few less than stellar years in terms of results before finding a great coach and bouncing back with a really successful season.

Favorite cheat meal?

A good donut always hits the spot on a hard ride.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

Being form Canada, nothing beats a nice crisp local BC apple along with a slice of sharp cheddar.

Tip for staying healthy?

Find an activity that you really enjoy and can easily integrate into your life. If you can do that, then you will be most likely to stick with it!

What motivates you to ride?

I'm always motivated to keep challenging myself and make improvements. Racing in the WorldTour is the ultimate goal so that is always something that keeps driving me forward.
