Curtis White hails from upstate New York and has been racing bikes since he was 10 years old. White is a strong all-rounder and standout cyclocross racer. When he is not on the road or playing in the mud, White is a full-time student at Union College in Schenectady, NY. The 2016 season will be his second year in the professional ranks. White is joined on the team by his younger sister and neo-pro Emma White.

What inspired you to ride?

My dad, throughout his youth, was a very high level oarsman in crew. He represented the US National Team and was part of the team that took silver at the World Championships in 1988.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

The learning curve that is required to reach the professional level. This is my second year as a pro on the road, and the learning curve has been steep. I've had to revamp how I eat, how I train, how to think about races.

Favorite cheat meal?

Carrot cake.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

Generally what I eat before races is pretty basic. It usually consists of rice and eggs with some olive oil and Parmesan.

Tip for staying healthy?

Ride your bike as often as you can!

What motivates you to ride?

I simply want to push myself and see what I can accomplish.
