Jesse Anthony lives and trains in Southern California when he is not traveling for races, but he is originally from Beverly, Massachusetts. He has been interested in the sport of cycling since he was a young child and turned professional nine years ago. Anthony has also competed extensively in Europe and notably won a stage a Norway’s Festningsrittet race. He also is a former national champion in cyclo-cross.

What inspired you to ride?

My dad brought us up doing all sorts of outdoor activities, but I got into mountain bike riding with my older brother Josh and my uncle Boo.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

Probably the hardest thing for me was overcoming injuries like Achilles tendonitis and sacroiliac instability in my back.

Favorite cheat meal?

Ice cream.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

Steak tacos or burritos are awesome and easy to make. All you need is flour tortillas, grass fed steak, bell peppers, onions, avocado, rice, black beans, cilantro and organic cheddar cheese.

Tip for staying healthy?

Balance exercise and a well-rounded diet with a way to release the stress that builds up in life.

What motivates you to ride?

The opportunity that I have in racing is a gift from God, and his generosity motivates me to apply myself 100 percent to this sport.
