Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't.

Megan Heath grew up dancing ballet until her father and brother took up cycling and encouraged her to try it. After two months she had fallen in love with the bike and switched to cycling full time. For the past four years, Heath has made a name for herself on the junior circuit racing for Frazier Cycling, out of Suwanee, Georgia. 2017 will see Heath splits her time between the race course and her freshman year of college.

What inspired you to ride?

My father and brothers initially inspired me to ride, as I would go to cheer them on at races. When I got older, I became inspired by my small successes.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

In the past I allowed certain situations and people to intimidate me on the bike to the point that I wasn't able to perform to my full potential. It took me months to gain confidence and learn how to deal with pressure.

Favorite cheat meal?

Pizza and Mac n' Cheese.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

I am a huge salad eater, especially a Caesar salad with grilled chicken.

Tip for staying healthy?

I avoid gluten and dairy in my diet, and that helps me stay away from many unhealthy snack foods that I would otherwise be very tempted to eat!

What motivates you to ride?

I am motivated to train and perform at my best because I want to use well the talents God has given to me. I strive to achieve my goals, and I know that if I do not ride, even when I don't feel like it, those goals will slip out of my reach.
