The worst is watching a teammate lose the race because I didn’t do my job.

Rob Britton hails from Regina, Saskatchewan where he first got on a bicycle as a teenager. He soon developed into one of the top amateur riders in Canada before turning professional in 2010. Since making the move to the professional ranks, Britton has raced primarily in North America with a forte into Europe with Team Raleigh in 2013. The 2015 season was a breakthrough season for Britton who captured the overall title at the Tour of Gila along with top results at the Amgen Tour of California and US Pro Challenge.

What inspires you to ride?

After school one day in 7th grade, a bunch of the ‘cool’ kids were making plans to go mountain biking on the weekend and I invited myself along.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

Training enough to be competitive, but working enough so I wasn’t living on the street.

Favorite cheat meal?

Burger. Fries. Beer. Not necessarily in that order.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

They’re called Glory Bowls. The sauce if amazing and they’re super easy to make!

Tip for staying healthy?

Make your own food. It makes you more conscious of what you put in your body.

What motivates you to ride?

Being told I can’t do something, or that I’m not good enough has gotten me a long way. Although now I try to just do it for myself to see just how far I can take it.
