If you can't dream big, ridiculous dreams, what's the point in dreaming at all?

Sara Bergen is an avid adventurer who came to the cycling world through her passion for the outdoors, hunger to compete, and a relentless drive to push her limits. In addition to being one North America’s top riders, Bergen holds a Bachelors of Technology in Architectural Science and a diploma in Architectural and Building Engineering Technology from British Columbia Institute of Technology.

What inspired you to ride?

I have always been active and driven to compete. What hooked me and inspired me to race was competing at BC Super Week. It was at this criterium series that I got my first exposure to the highest level of racing in North America.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

The biggest obstacle I have to overcome is the steep learning curve of how to read a race and race as smart as possible.

Favorite cheat meal?

Chocolate, this isn’t a meal, but it should be.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

Yogurt, Almonds, Chia and maple syrup

Tip for staying healthy?

Laugh a lot and practice that Zen, don’t let the little stresses in life get you down.

What motivates you to ride?

I love the adventure of cycling.
