“We've all had some major setbacks in this sport and it really teaches you to handle whatever comes your way.”
Shane Kline was introduced to cycling when his uncle had a birthday party on race night at the local Velodrome. That night Kline watched the races and fell in love with it. Later that year he learned to ride a track bike and has been addicted ever since. Kline grew up as one of six children and learned both the value of teamwork, and how to fend for himself – both serve him well in the chaos of field sprints. When not on the bike, Kline spends most of his time cooking, hiking or helping with the family business. A third generation woodworker, Kline still spends his off-season with his father crafting furniture as the family has done for the last 65 years.
